Mr. Gronkle is an elderly grouchy warthog who is never fond of children. He is rarely Mrs. Gronkle and Vanderbulit Gronkle, compassionate and has things to get his way. He offically debuts in the episode "Grouchy Mr. Gronkle" from The Busy World of Richard Scarry. However, he makes his first cameo appearance in "The Best Birthday Present Ever."
It is shown, through unspecified means, that he has a nephew named Vanderbuilt. It is not absolutely certain, but possible, that his sister is Vanderbuilt's mother.
It is revealed in the Busytown Mysteries episode "The Mystery of the Unpopular Pizzeria" that Mr. Gronkle's first name is Gordon.
